Conference Season

July has been conference season! I went to both the Guild of Natural Science Illustrators (GNSI) meeting in Santa Cruz, CA, and the Association of Medical Illustrators (AMI) meeting in Atlanta, GA. Both were fun, and I had an extra awesome time volunteering as a Social Media Maven at GNSI. I got to see my first real live banana slug too! I think they have a lot of character, but being giant and yellow probably helps.

 What a handsome invertebrate!

I also earned my Master's in Biomedical Visualization a couple of weeks ago with the completion of my graduate research and final presentation, "Creating an Educational Illustrated Storybook for Children Ages Four to Six Newly Diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus." The presentation was successful, and I'm really excited about how my first children's book turned out.
